Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Mancho ("Mancho", "we", "us"), Bawana Rd, Delhi Technological University, Shahbad Daulatpur Village, Rohini, Delhi 110042. By creating an account or using Mancho, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy and Community Rules form part of these terms.
What Mancho is
Mancho is an online marketplace at mancho.in. It connects people and businesses ("Clients") with performers and creative professionals ("Talent") and with teachers and mentors, for bookings, gigs, contracts, paid 1:1 teaching sessions ("Sessions") and courses.
Mancho is an intermediary and a facilitator. We help Clients and Talent find each other, communicate, agree terms and, for online payments, collect and settle money through our licensed payment partner. We do not ourselves perform the booked service, teach the session or, for cash bookings, handle the cash. We are not the provider of the underlying service. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or outcome of any engagement between users, and we do not endorse any user. Any "verified" or review indicator on Mancho means only what it says, for example that Mancho has reviewed and approved a profile. It is not a guarantee of a person's identity, qualifications, background or right to work. You are responsible for satisfying yourself about the other party.
Mancho is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
How search results are ordered
When you search for Talent or mentors, we order the results by these main factors, from most to least important:
- Match: how well a profile matches your search words and the filters you chose. For Talent, we look first at the stage name, then the collective, skills and genres, then the place, and last the languages on the profile.
- Distance: how close the Talent or mentor is to the place you searched, when you search near a place.
- Standing (Talent only): a Talent's standing on Mancho may also be used, but only to order results that match equally well.
A Talent's standing is based on the bookings and contracts they have completed on Mancho over a recent period, including work done as part of a collective. Repeat work for the same client counts only up to a limit. A Talent with a higher standing may show a standing badge. Standing cannot be bought. We do not accept payment for a higher place in search results, and we do not show sponsored listings. If we ever do, they will be clearly labelled.
Words we use
- Client: a user who books, hires or engages Talent on Mancho.
- Talent: a performer or creative professional listed on Mancho.
- Mentor: a user who offers paid 1:1 teaching sessions. Learner: a user who books one. Session: a 1:1 teaching session booked on Mancho.
- Collective: a group of Talent created on Mancho. Its Lead is the member who leads it.
- Booking: a confirmed engagement between a Client and a Talent for a performance or service.
- Cash booking: a booking that both sides agree to settle in cash and that is logged in the app as these terms require.
- Logged: recorded in the app through Mancho's cash-logging steps, including the cash amount and the confirmation by both sides.
- Commission: the fee payable to Mancho for facilitating a transaction, calculated at the applicable rate on the transaction value.
- Wallet: the running record of a Talent's earnings, top-ups and commission owed on Mancho. A wallet can show a negative balance when commission owed is more than the earnings credited.
- Deposit: for a high-value cash booking, an advance paid online through our payment partner before the booking is confirmed, equal to the commission on that booking.
- Set-off: Mancho applying amounts you owe us against amounts credited to you.
- Platform: the Mancho website at mancho.in and any Mancho mobile app.
Who can use Mancho
You must be 18 or older to use Mancho. We do not currently accept sign-ups from anyone under 18.
If we learn that a user is under 18, we will restrict the account at once, so it can no longer be used. If the date of birth was entered wrongly, write to support@mancho.in within 30 days to correct it; we may ask for proof. If it is not corrected within 30 days, we will delete the account and its data, except anything the law requires us to keep.
See Children under 18 in our Privacy Policy.
Your account
You must give accurate information when you register. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. You must not share your account or let anyone else use it. If you think your account has been compromised, write to support@mancho.in straight away.
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend, restrict or close your account if you break these terms, after following the process in Restrictions and your appeal, including your right to appeal. When you delete your account, your data is handled as described in How long we keep your data.
Bookings and disputes
Bookings. Clients can browse Talent profiles and request bookings. A booking is confirmed when both sides agree to its terms, including the price, date and venue. Mancho facilitates the booking but is not a party to the contract between the Client and the Talent.
Cancellations. Either side may cancel a booking. Refunds and cancellation charges are set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Disputes. If a confirmed booking is cancelled and the other side disputes the cancellation, any refund is held while we review the matter. For bookings and contracts, you can use Report a problem in the app to raise a dispute. For sessions and courses, write to support@mancho.in.
Ways to pay
You can pay, or be paid, for bookings on Mancho in two ways:
- Online payment, collected and settled through our licensed payment partner, Razorpay; and
- Cash, for eligible bookings, where the cash is paid directly between the Client and the Talent and the booking is logged in the app.
Cash is available for bookings only. Contracts, teaching sessions and courses are paid online.
Cash bookings
Cash bookings must be logged. If you choose to settle a booking in cash, you must log it in the app. Choosing cash means choosing to log it. There is no option to mark a booking as "paid outside the app" or to skip logging.
- The cash amount recorded is the agreed booking price set on Mancho. It cannot be typed in freely or understated to reduce commission.
- The Client (who paid) and the Talent (who received) must each confirm the cash before the booking is treated as completed. If one side confirms and the other does not respond within 72 hours (currently) after the event ends, the booking completes on the confirming side's word. Not responding is neutral. It is not treated as fraud or wrongdoing.
- If one side disputes the cash (says it was not paid or received, or the amount is wrong), the booking does not complete automatically and we review the matter.
Mancho does not handle cash. For cash bookings, Mancho does not collect, hold, transmit or refund the cash. The Client pays the Talent directly. Mancho only facilitates and records the booking (matching, calendar, logging, confirmations and reviews).
Commission on cash bookings. Because Mancho never touches the cash, the commission on a cash booking is owed by the Talent to Mancho and is recorded in the Talent's wallet.
- Commission on a cash booking is currently 10% of the booking value.
- Commission is reserved when a cash booking is logged and becomes payable when the booking is completed. If the booking is cancelled, declined or expires before it is completed, the reserved commission is released and nothing is owed.
- We may apply amounts credited to your wallet (your future earnings), and any top-ups you make, against commission you owe (set-off). By accepting these terms you authorise this set-off.
- Commission is never charged to, or shown to, the Client. The Client pays only the agreed price.
Your wallet
If the commission you owe is more than the earnings credited to you, your wallet can show a negative balance (money you owe Mancho).
- We charge no interest and no penalty on a negative balance. You owe only the commission itself.
- While your balance is negative, withdrawals are paused until you clear what you owe. You will see a clear message telling you this.
- Your future earnings first go towards clearing what you owe before any amount can be withdrawn.
- If your balance reaches minus ₹2,000 (currently) or lower, you cannot log new cash bookings until you top up. You can still take online-paid work, which helps clear the balance.
- You can top up your wallet at any time through our payment partner to clear or reduce what you owe.
- We recover what you owe only by pausing withdrawals, applying your future earnings by set-off, limiting new cash bookings, and asking you to settle before your account can be reactivated. We do not use debt-collection agencies, and we do not charge interest.
- If you stop being a Talent or close your account while you owe commission, leaving does not cancel the amount owed. It stays recorded as an amount due and may need to be settled before your account or that part of it is reactivated.
Deposits on cash bookings
For a cash booking of ₹10,000 or more (currently), the Client must pay a deposit online through our payment partner before the Talent's time is committed.
- The deposit equals Mancho's commission on that booking. The Client then pays the rest in cash directly to the Talent. The Client's total (deposit plus cash) equals the agreed price. The Client is never charged more than the agreed price.
- The deposit is Mancho's commission, collected in advance for that booking. When the booking is completed, no further commission is owed on it.
- Paying fully in cash is not available at or above this amount. The deposit is shown to the Client as a required part-payment towards the booking.
- What happens to the deposit if the booking is cancelled is set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Cancellations and held refunds
When a confirmed booking is cancelled, the other side is asked to confirm or dispute the cancellation.
- If they confirm, or do not respond within 48 hours (currently), the cancellation goes through and any refund or release follows our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- If they dispute it, our team reviews the matter, and any refund or deposit is held until the review is resolved. No one is automatically found at fault. A person decides.
- The full rules, including that Mancho does not refund cash, how deposits are treated and the timelines, are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Deposit kept after an upheld fraud finding. If, after review and after any appeal, we find that a cancellation or booking was used to defraud the other side or Mancho (for example, cancelling on Mancho to settle outside it and avoid commission), we may keep the deposit on that booking. This is a reasonable estimate of the loss that Mancho and the honest side suffer in such cases, including the commission Mancho would have earned and the cost of facilitating and reviewing the booking. It is not a penalty or a forfeiture. It applies only where a fraud finding is upheld after the appeal process, and only to the deposit on the affected booking.
Restrictions and your appeal
We may restrict, suspend or remove your account or part of it (for example, stop a Talent from being found or booked) where, after review, we find on the basis of logged transactions or a confirmed fraud finding that you have broken these terms, for example by fraud, collusion, or repeatedly taking transactions outside Mancho in breach of the cash-logging rule.
- Any restriction across Mancho is decided by a member of our team after review. It is never triggered automatically by a score, and it is never imposed by another user.
- We act on evidence. Claims about things that happened outside Mancho, or a bare complaint with nothing logged behind it, are not enough.
- A restriction limits access. It does not publish any "fraudster" or "blacklisted" label about you. Other users simply do not see you, and they are not told why.
- We will tell you that your account is restricted and how to appeal. On request or on appeal, we will give you the substance of the reason and the conduct or bookings it is based on, with other people's personal information removed.
- Appeal: a different reviewer will look at the matter again, and we aim to respond within 7 days. A restriction can be reversed: if your appeal succeeds, it is lifted and the related finding is corrected or erased. Where practical, a lasting consequence takes effect only after the appeal window.
- Bookings already confirmed: if your account is restricted while you have confirmed bookings, we will let them go ahead to completion, so that honest people on the other side are not left stranded.
Commission
Mancho charges commission on completed transactions. Commission rates are shown on Mancho and may change as described in Changes to these terms. The current rates are:
| What | Commission (currently) | Who bears it and how |
|---|---|---|
| Online bookings | 10% | Deducted from the Talent's earnings before payout |
| Cash bookings | 10% | Owed by the Talent and recorded in their wallet; on a cash booking with a deposit, the deposit is the commission |
| Teaching sessions | 15% | Deducted from the Mentor's earnings before payout |
| Courses | 20% | Deducted from the Mentor's earnings before payout |
| Contracts, including team contracts through a collective | 10% | Charged to the Talent, or for a team contract to the Lead |
Commission is fixed when the booking is accepted. A change to commission rates applies only to bookings, sessions, enrollments and contracts accepted after the change takes effect. Ones already accepted keep the rate they were accepted with.
Commission is never charged to, or itemised for, the Client. The Client pays only the agreed price.
Payouts
Payout. Talent and Mentors can withdraw their available earnings to the UPI ID they have registered on Mancho.
Settlement hold. After a booking or session is completed, the payout is held for a settlement period before it can be withdrawn. The settlement hold is currently 72 hours. The hold in force when the booking is accepted applies to that booking. A payout may take longer if a payment is disputed or needs checking.
Changes. We may change the settlement hold as described in Changes to these terms. A change applies only to bookings accepted after it takes effect.
Teaching sessions and mentors
What Mancho is. Mancho is an intermediary. Mentors are independent. We do not teach, and we do not promise any result. Learners pay through our payment partner. Cash is not available for teaching sessions.
When a mentor is paid. If a session goes ahead, the mentor is paid for it only if they join it. "Join" means pressing Join in the app from 10 minutes before the start until the end of the booked time. A late join inside that time still counts. If a mentor cancels, or does not join, the learner gets a full refund and the mentor is not paid for that session.
Late cancellations by a learner. The learner gets back the share set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy. The mentor receives the part that is not refunded, less Mancho's commission, after the usual settlement hold. That part reflects the time the mentor set aside. It is not a penalty.
Session settings. Mentors choose their session length (currently 15 to 180 minutes), trial length, break between sessions and minimum notice for bookings. Mancho shows only times that fit these settings.
Price per session. A mentor sets one price per session. It is a flat price: the same whatever the session length the mentor offers. The price does not change with the length of the session. A trial session has its own price, which the mentor sets. The price shown when the learner books is the price the learner pays. If the mentor changes the price or length while the learner is booking, the learner is asked to check the new details before paying.
A change to settings or price applies to new bookings only. Bookings already held keep their time, length and price. A trial is offered once per learner, and only at the length and price the mentor has confirmed.
A mentor's public identity. A mentor's teaching profile shows their full name and profile photo to people who are signed in to Mancho, on the profile and in mentor search. People can also search for a mentor by name. This is part of having a teaching profile. A mentor can change their name and photo on their profile. A mentor can pause their teaching profile at any time in the app. While it is paused, their name, photo and profile are not shown on the profile page or in mentor search, and no new sessions can be booked. Sessions already booked still go ahead, and the learners in them can still see the mentor's name. We never show a mentor's email, phone number or PAN there.
Learners. A learner can book one trial session with each mentor. The rules for cancelling, for a mentor who does not join, and for a learner who does not join are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Once a session has ended, it cannot be cancelled. If something went wrong, write to support@mancho.in.
Collectives
What a collective is. A collective is a group of Talent on Mancho. One member is the lead.
The lead is the only contract party. When a team wins a gig or an open call, the contract is between the client and the lead only. The lead is the only one who signs it and the only one Mancho pays. Mancho's commission on that contract is charged to the lead, not to the client. The other members are not parties to it, and Mancho pays them nothing.
Arrangements between a lead and members are private. Mancho is not a party to them and does not guarantee them.
Joining a collective. When you join, the lead can include you in team applications without asking you each time. While a team application that includes you is under review, you cannot apply to the same gig or open call on your own. If you leave, the lead cannot include you in new applications. Applications already sent are not withdrawn, and the client may see you as not available in them.
Accepting a team. A client can take the whole team, or pick which members to take, up to the openings left. The lead is always included. If a team is bigger than the openings left, the client can add openings so everyone fits, up to the limit shown in the app. Members who are not taken are told, and they are free to apply to other work. For a gig, a member who is taken keeps their place on it, and cannot also apply to it on their own or in another team, even if they leave the collective. The line-up may change after a team is accepted. The agreement stays with the lead either way.
Showing a collective on your profile. You choose whether one collective shows on your public profile. Nothing shows unless you choose it, and you can hide it at any time. If the lead renames a collective, the new name can appear on the profile of a member who chose to show it, and we tell that member. They can hide it on the collective's page. See our Privacy Policy.
Names are user content. Collective names are not unique and are not verified. Mancho may hold, take down or require a change to a name that breaks our rules. Anyone can report a name from its badge.
Our role. Mancho is an intermediary and does not perform the work. What Mancho is applies.
Location
Choosing a place. You pick places from a list that Mancho keeps. You are responsible for choosing the place that is true: where you are based, where you teach, where a gig is, or where an event is held.
Distances. A distance is the straight-line distance between the centres of two towns or cities. It is rounded, so it is approximate. It is not a travel distance or a travel time.
What is public. The town or city where a Talent is based is public. A Mentor's teaching town or city is shown to people who are signed in to Mancho. Your saved location is private to you. See our Privacy Policy.
Venues. For an in-person booking, we show the venue's town or city to the Talent straight away. We show the street address and pincode only once the booking is confirmed. A gig is different: its town or city, and any venue address you add to the gig, are shown to Talent so they can decide whether to apply.
Collective chat
Who can read it. Every current member of a collective can read the whole Collective chat, including messages sent before they joined. Messages are text only.
Reactions and typing. Members can react to a message with one of a small set of emoji, and other members can see who reacted. Members may also see, live, when someone is typing. Typing is never saved.
Acceptable use. You must not share phone numbers, UPI IDs or payment details in the Collective chat. You must not use the Collective chat, or reactions, to harass, threaten, impersonate or spam anyone, or to share content that breaks our Community Rules.
Message removal. Mancho may remove a message after a report is upheld. If your message is removed, we will tell you, and you can disagree by writing to our Grievance Officer within 15 days. Reports are private: you will not be told who reported you.
Sealed copy. The original of a removed message is kept sealed for 180 days for dispute resolution, then destroyed, unless the law or a court or authority requires us to keep it longer.
Former members. If you leave a collective, your messages and reactions stay in the chat, shown as from "Former member". If your account is closed, your messages are hidden from the chat and your reactions are removed.
Dissolved collectives. When a collective is dissolved, its Collective chat becomes read-only. Members can read it for 12 months. We delete it the day after that, unless we must keep it longer because of an open report, an open dispute, or a request from a court or an authorised agency.
Cover photo
Your cover photo is public. Everyone who visits your profile can see your cover photo.
What you can upload. You must own, or have the right to use, the image you upload as your cover photo. You must not upload images that contain nudity, sexual content, violence or hate speech, or anything else that breaks our Community Rules.
Checks. Cover photos may be screened by automated tools before they are shown publicly. While a photo is being checked, only you can see it. Mancho may hold, remove or refuse a cover photo that breaks our Community Rules or these terms.
Permission to show it. By uploading a cover photo, you give Mancho a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to show it on your profile and in search results for as long as your profile is live. This permission ends when you remove the photo or delete your account.
Removing it. You can remove your cover photo at any time. The default banner then shows instead.
Tax
Tax deducted at source. Mancho currently does not deduct tax at source (TDS) from amounts you earn. You are responsible for reporting your own income, including income from cash bookings, and for paying any tax you owe.
GST. Mancho is currently not registered for GST and does not issue GST tax invoices. The commission is Mancho's own fee.
Your own tax. If you are registered for GST, or have other tax obligations on your services, those remain yours to meet. Mancho does not invoice for, or account for tax on, the service you provide.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, our commission rates, refund terms and other policies from time to time.
- Notice. We will tell you about material changes by email or by a notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. We will publish each change with the date it takes effect.
- New transactions only. A change to commission rates or refund terms applies only to bookings, sessions, enrollments and contracts accepted on or after the date it takes effect. Ones already accepted keep the terms they were accepted with.
- Commission increases. Before increasing a commission rate, we will give Talent and Mentors at least 30 days' notice in the app. The notice will state the new rate and the date it takes effect.
- Settlement hold changes. A change to the settlement hold applies only to bookings accepted after it takes effect.
- What applies to your transaction. The commission rate, refund terms and settlement hold in force when your booking is accepted apply to that booking, even if we change them later.
- Changes that only help you may apply straight away.
- Continued use. If you keep using Mancho after the notice period, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using Mancho before the change takes effect. Nothing here limits any right you have under consumer law.
Your content
Your content stays yours. You keep ownership of the content you upload to Mancho, including profile information, portfolio items, cover photos, messages and reviews. By uploading content, you give Mancho a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to use, show, copy and distribute it on and through Mancho, so that we can run the marketplace.
What you must not upload. You must not upload content that infringes someone else's intellectual property, or content that is unlawful, defamatory or obscene, or that breaks our Community Rules.
Mancho's content. Mancho itself, including its design, code, logos and branding, belongs to Mancho. You may not copy, change or distribute it without our written permission.
Takedown. If you believe content on Mancho infringes your intellectual property, write to our Grievance Officer at support@mancho.in with details of the content and the right you believe is infringed.
Limits on our liability
Mancho is a facilitator and an intermediary. As far as the law allows, Mancho is not liable for:
- the quality, safety, legality or outcome of any booking, session, gig, contract or engagement between users;
- any loss or damage arising from a user's acts, omissions, content or conduct;
- any loss of earnings, data or profits arising from use of Mancho;
- interruptions, errors or delays beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law.
Your consumer rights are protected. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, or the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Your right to approach a consumer commission is not affected by anything here.
